So a New York man has become fairly famous, in the Internet sense, since some neighborhood folk harassed him for routinely eating a sub sandwich parked in his car on their street. It was public property. They actually went so far as to follow him to his office to confront him, and also called the police. I take it these folks never eat in their car. That's a shame, because it's actually quite peaceful.
Fortunately, everything turned out well for him in the end and he is now able to eat his lunch where he pleases.
This incident does raise a familiar theme for me--I love to eat in my car, and I usually choose the edges of fairly large parking lots when I can find them so as to help my car "blend in" and avoid these types of issues with nosy passersby. I now see that my environmental awareness on this matter is justified. Hopefully this story, which has gone viral, will help create some slack for folks who eat in their cars.
